சோழ நாட்டில் பௌத்தம்

1940 Mayilai Seeni Venk a tasamy (1940), C.Minakshi (1979), T.N.Vasudeva Rao (1979) and K.Sivaramalingam (1997) have discussed about the Buddha at Perunjeri in Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu. French Institute of Pondicherry has the photograph of this Buddha in its collections. There is also reference about this Buddha in Tamil Nattu Varalaru: Chola Peruvendar Kalam (900-1300 AD), Part II, (1998). Difference could be noticed while finding a new Buddha and while documenting the Buddha which was found earlier by other scholars. But the interest which prevails while seeing the Buddha at the very first time would be boundless, which I feel happy to share with one and all. Now, over to Perunjeri. 1993 In 1993, after registering for M.Phil., under the title Buddhism in Tamil Nadu with special reference to Thanjavur District I was informed by historian Dr. Kudava y il Balasubramanian, that there was a Buddha temple called as Rishi Temple in Perunjeri near Mayiladuthurai in Tami

1940 மயிலை சீனி.வேங்கடசாமி (1940) முதற்கொண்டு சி.மீனாட்சி (1979), டி.என்.வாசுதேவராவ் (1979), சிவராமலிங்கம் (1997) உள்ளிட்ட அறிஞர் பெருமக்கள் பெருஞ்சேரியில் உள்ள புத்தர் சிலையைப் பற்றிக் கூறியுள்ளனர். பாண்டிச்சேரி பிரெஞ்சு ஆய்வு நிறுவனம் (French Institute of Pondicherry) தன் தொகுப்பில் இச்சிலையின் புகைப்படத்தைக் கொண்டுள்ளது. தமிழக அரசு வெளியிட்டுள்ள தமிழ்நாட்டு வரலாறு சோழப்பெருவேந்தர் காலம் (1998) என்னும் நூலில் இப் புத்தரைப் பற்றிய குறிப்பு உள்ளது. புதியதாக ஒரு புத்தர் சிலையைக் கண்டுபிடிப்பதற்கும், முன்னர் அறிஞர்கள் கூறியுள்ள சிலையைப் பார்ப்பதற்கும் வேறுபாடு இருப்பினும் சிலையை முதலில் காணும்போது கிடைக்கும் எல்லையற்ற மகிழ்ச்சியைப் பகிர்ந்துகொள்வதற்காக இவ்வனுபவம். வாருங்கள் பெருஞ்சேரிக்குப் பயணிப்போம்.    1993 1993இல் மதுரை காமராசர் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டத்தில் பௌத்தம் என்ற தலைப்பில் ஆய்வியல் நிறைஞர் பட்டத்திற்குப் பதிவு செய்தபின் வரலாற்றறிஞர் முனைவர் குடவாயில் பாலசுப்ரமணியன் அவர்களுடன் பௌத்தம் தொடர்பான பதிவுகளைப் பற்றி விசாரித்தபோது மயிலாடுதுறை அருகே ரிஷிக்கோய
